Kris Scaife, BAppSci (HMS), PES, PSP
Director of Performance
Kris has been a member of the Acceleration team since 2004. Since then he has worked his way from a part time coach to recently taking over the title of Director of Performance at our Brisbane Central training facility. Along the way the way Kris has expanded his training knowledge by completing the Performance Enhancement Specialist program conducted by the N.A.S.M based in the United States. Kris has had experience training athletes in a wide spectrum of sports from rugby, A.F.L and football to figure skating and rowing. He has helped young developing athletes all the way through to professional athletes prepare for competition.

Simon began working with Acceleration in 2007 while completing his double degree in Applied Science (Human Movements)/Business (majoring in Marketing) at the Queensland University of Technology. He has extensive experience in Swimming and Rugby Union and has further background in Water Polo and Track & Field. Simon has a special interest in lower body rehabilitation and working with athletes that continually challenge him.

Performance Coach
Jerry has been coaching in the Acceleration since 2005. He has completed double degree of Human Movement Studies & Nutrition and Dietetics from the Queensland University of Technology. In 2005, he has completed level 2 Strength and Conditioning coach course from ASCA. Jerry has extensive experience with every type of athlete. He coached the Brisbane Bullets in 2005 and 2007. He is one of the strength coaches for The Head of River Rowing team from St. Joseph ’s College – Gregory Terrace 2007 and 2008. Jerry also has a background in basketball, swimming, rowing and windsurfing. Recently, he has been playing extreme sports like kite boarding, to continually challenge his limits. Jerry likes challenging work. He enjoys working with good athletes and with injured athletes. He is especially interested in helping injured athletes restore their mobility and increase their functional performance. Jerry also has clinical dietitian experience in hospital. He has developed nutrition guideline for Acceleration athletes in order to increase their knowledge of sport nutrition and performance.
Daniel Palena, BAppSci (HMS)
Performance Coach
Daniel has been enthusiastic part of our team since February 2007. He graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Sports Science degree from the Sunshine Coast University . During that time he has worked diligently to gain a variety of experiences to give him a well rounded career. He has spent time in past and present contracts with Sunshine Coast Grammar School , Nudgee College , Brisbane Boys College , St. Joseph ’s College – Gregory Terrace, Marist College – Ashgrove, and the Brisbane Bullets. He has now become a regular figure in our Brisbane Training Centre and has cemented a position as one of our up and coming coaches of the Acceleration Team. Dan is an avid trainer who is very strong and enjoys trying out our massive variety of exercises. You would not know it if you met him, but Dan enjoys Ultimate Fighting in his past time.
Nicolai Morris
Performance Coach
Nicolai has been involved with Acceleration for the past 5 years, first as an athlete and now as a coach. Her passion for sport comes out in her coaching where she shows her enjoyment of helping young athletes excel. Nicolai is our youngest member of the team, but do not let age fool you because her knowledge level and confidence is exceptional. She is one of the strongest female athletes to ever come through our centre and she acts as a great role model to all of our athletes with her continuing success in sports such as Touch Football where she has been selected on the Australian Team. Nicolai has completed her Level 1 ASCA qualification and is completing her Bachelor of Human Movement Degree at the University of Queensland.
Ben Williams, BAppSci (HMS)
Performance Coach
Ben has been with the Acceleration team since 2007 while completing his Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Ben has extensive knowledge in athletics, football and cricket and was a previous national 400m sprinter before commencing his university studies. Ben is a passionate coach who enjoys working with all athletes to help them reach their full potential.
Rowan Gillman
Performance Coach
Rowan was employed by Acceleration after completing his 400 hour practicum. He is currently in his final year of a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movements) degree at the University of Queensland. He has also achieved a Level 1 accreditation with ASCA. Rowan enjoys working with athletes and watching them progress during their time spent with Acceleration.
